I do not know who it is in the neighborhood. It started at 2 am with music so loud it rattled the windows of our house. I do not see any lights when I look out that would tell me where the sound is coming from. It is loud enough to here the music but not the words now at 3 am. It is cold enough so I do not wish to get dressed and go outside.

Just can't decide what to do.

Hi Joe

Some people hace no consideration at all! Is there anyone official you can report things like that to? In the UK we can call the police and if it's an ongoing situation we can report it to our local Council who can issue a noise abatement order. If it happens often it is a good idea to record the noise and note down the times.

Temporarily - use earplugs and tighten your mumps scarf! Hope you get some sleep tonight.

Take care - Scottie  :)

hello Joe.
sorry to hear of your musical assault by others during the night.
when we lived in town we had a few incidents like this, now in the country it is folks letting their hound dogs loose at night and the barking, yelping and baying keeps us up.
hopefully a nap today will fix you up.

Thanks for your comments. I did try cotton in my ears and tightened up my mumps scarf. The music went off at 6am. After 3 am it was turned down so windows were not vibrating.

Joe, I live on a busy road/highway and cars go by here with the windows down in the summer all times of night and day with music blaring and it vibrates my house.

I live next to a triplex with 3 families.  Cars come and go at all times with people working nights, etc.  Or ppl will stop by and let the car run with the windows down and music playing and just go in the house for 10 minutes or so and I am so darn ticked by that time I might open the window and holler something a lady shouldn't.  Also they do this at 6 a.m. when picking someone up who lives in the house and just sit there with the windows open and radio blaring.  They do this winter/summer and this is Michigan and not particularly nice right now.

Don't have much advice except I have gone over to the house and tried to find out who it was and give them a tongue lashing for being so inconsiderate.  The apt on my end is having a new baby soon.  Gee,I could ask my hubby to mow the lawn at odd hours to wake it up.  Ya think?

Poor Joe!  I can relate, and yes, sometimes people have no sense!

I hope this doesn't keep happening.  I hope tonight was much more peaceful.  ;)

Last night was quiet.

Lucy, with a new baby there is no specific sleep time so it would be hit and miss. NOTE under wind sheid wiper asking for consideration? When we first moved here it was worse. I used the snow blower to open my drive at 8 am after an early morning of loud music and then went and help the parents blow the snow from their driveway. I made the comment that I did not get much sleep because of the music. The kids were shut down and no more problems. I think the parents liked that some one else had problems with it when the kids complained about the noise from the snowblower.
