Living in a small town

I live in a small town where we have a lot of small family run businesses.

One such company, re-roofed our house this past summer.

I was really surprised when yesterday in the mail, we received a Christmas card from this above said company, along with a $50 gift card to a restaurant I had never heard of.  Wow!

I've never heard of any big, brick and mortar companies in larger towns doing this for their customers!

I've always believed in doing business with the "locals", if at all possible.

Looks like it pays off!   ;)

Great story, Bucky! We like to support small local companies when we can, too. The personal relationship makes for really good service, not to mention people who really care about the quality of the job.

Guess it depends. I live in a big city and when I refinanced my home mortgage I got a free very nice digital camera.

I looooove small towns. I call myself a country girl spoiled by the city. I like wide open spaces. Love my mother's home town. But I also like not having to drive miles to an open restaurant, drs, gas station or anywhere else. A cousin lives in a small town and an 15 mile trip is regular and nothing to her.  ::)

Wow Bucky, My contractor didn't send us a thing. I try to support the locals also but we don't have many here. You know the big business came in and shut them all down.  ::)

This is wonderful. Give them lots of referances!
