Very interesting! My rheumy told me I needed to sit in the sun for 20 minutes a day or take Vit D supplements, but didn't explain why.

I had my infusion today and spoke to my immuneologist. He reminded me that I should be taking Vit D as it helps reduce depression. That is one thing I did not know. Also, I am on the plaquenil now so that is another reason that I should be taking it.

I think that I have recently read that one of the reason so many of us are having low vit d levels is due to all the foods that we eat with all the preservatives plus all the medications that we take that are interfering with the body's ability to make and absorb the vit d. That would explain a lot of things wouldn't it.

Also, I have often wondered it the pollution in the air somehow interferes with the amount of rays, or whatever, that we are exposed to are of the right kind, etc to help us trigger the vit d mechanism in the body. Irish ;D

Hi Nara

Thank you for that very intersting read, I am not on vit D  but I guess it's another thing that I should be looking into.

Merry Christmas to you.

I had taken Vit D for only a few months when my dr ran some blood work and found it was too high so at some point you might want to get yours checked. My dr told me to stop taking it. I was surprised since it is low in most people with autoimmune problems. I also take plaquenil but was taking the D at a different time of day.
