just wanted to vent. i woke up in a horrible flare.the kind that just makes u cry (if the tears can come)... just feeling so extdry everywhere like i could fall and of course the mouth and eyes... i laid in bed from 4:30-7:00. got up for an hour watched a lil tv and ate a banana. went back to sleep after taking 1/2 xanax and still woke every hour but made myself get up before 11..

I am afraid if i sleep all day i cant sleep at night.. but if i cant sleep at night will it really affect it more if i sleep in the daytime??? i am immune to sleeping pills-tried melatonin again last night but had weird vivid dreams and still woke...

guess its just part of the flare. i thought last week i had a bug now i am wondering if was just dumb sjogrens rearing its head..

One thing that is funny is my kitty cat likes it-he is nocturnal so loves it when i can pet him at night and then sleep with him in the day... i feel like im getting notcturnal too--dont want to be... lol

Sleep when you can. You can reset your system later.

You can use meditation when you can not sleep. I have been told that a little meditation can be as good as hours of sleep.

Find a comfortable position and close your eyes.
With your eyes closed, look to the top of your head.
Breathe in and think "I am", breathe out and think "calm".
Repeat this for as long as you can. Restart this if you lose your concentration.

I hate to sound like one of those people that say "that's me all the time"......but it it's how I am every night until a few weeks ago when my doctor finally prescribed Ambien CR.  Once every week or two I try to go without it and I wake every hour.  I wish I could sleep in the day, but can't even do that as my leg pain keeps me awake. I had no luck with Melatonin,  and over the counter sleep aids made me tired the next day.  It's the CR (Continued Release)  that I guess we need.  I feel for you!

There's nothing worse then sitting up all night with a flare - scared, uncomfortable, in pain, lonely, alone. It happens to me frequently too. Just be gentle with yourself and don't add the extra pressure of stressing over your nocturnal schedule. You can work towards getting back on schedule after you feel better.

I don't know if you are married or have a partner or family in your home. I have a recliner in the bedroom and my hubby knows that I frequently get up to sit in it with a small light to read or use the computer. I don't feel so alone that way. But if you live alone, take advantage of that snuggly kitty to feel his love, warmth and comfort.

Feel better! *hug*

I have only had this happen a few times. The pain was so bad I could not stay in bed. It is a lonely and scary feeling. I hope you find a solution and can find some peace. I do believe in meditation and using the energy from stones. I hope it works well for you.

thanks Jenny , Deb everyone.. :)  yes i live alone -with my cat.  :)  and I also take ambien but after taking it nightly for a few months it always seems to lose its effects and i have to wean off for awhile..

well i awoke again at 4:30 am (went to bed at 11)... after about 20 minutes of meditation and breathing I took .5 xanax and was able to finally fall back asleep-i got up at 8 even though i was still a bit tired but i thought maybe if i try to get on a better schedule it will help.

thanks for all the suggestions.. I am sorry others go through this too-i appreciate everyone caring. :)
