The Rheumy did many blood tests and said I do not have Sjogrens. He seems to be a very good rheumy and has had experience with Sjogrens.

Since the burning nose I now have burning on my tongue and on my face. The Neuro prescribed Gabapentin and did an MRI. The burning is not in my nose but from the nerves. The Gabapentin seems to help with the burning on the face but not so much with the nose and tongue. He has increased my dosage from 300mg 3 x's a day to 400mg 3 x's a day. That was Thursday evening. I do not see much difference yet only on the face. Since he increased the dosage he wants to see me. I will be seeing him on Thursday.

The MRI showed 2 spots which he thinks is hardening of the arteries. He wants me to get another one in March.

I hope he can do something to help with the nose burning. That is the worst. It bothers me the least when I am chewing gum, eating food, or having something cold like popsicles. I eat a lot of popsicles. The burning of the nose does seem to be affected by the environment. If it is hot my nose gets dry. If there are odors that will bother it. It seems like my sense of smell is extra sensitive.

Anybody else ever have anything like this?

My tongue burns.  Many times my left arm burns.  Since being on plaquinel, the arm doesn't burn as often, but sometimes it burns through the plaquinel.  Got neuropathy everywhere ... so I figure it's that.

My tongue and face tingle ... like a battery .. zzzzzzzz .... sizzles like .... and sometimes it feels like hairs on my face brushing it and tickling it when no hair is there.

Sjogrens is strange.

Problem is when my nose burns really bad then my eyes do also. As I mentioned environment affects my nose and eyes also. Different odors and dryness. The bridge of my nose where my glasses rest also bothers me at times and I have to take my glasses off.

At home I keep humidifiers on to help with the affect dryness has.

I was so excited when I saw the title of your post, "Burning Nose".  So weird, but a few hours I had this sudden, stabbing burning in my nose/sinus that went all the way into my throat and was so bad it took my breath away. The worse of it has eased but it feels like it is on the verge of happening again. I'm sitting here practically frozen to avoid doing anything that might set it off. Wow... Never had anything like that happen in my life. It was horrible! If your chronic pain is anything like this, you have my sincere sympathy. Take care of yourself and I hope you find relief quickly.

There is an area in the nose close to the bridge of the nose where a group of nerves all conjoin. It is sort of the olfactory center or center for smell, etc. This area can be the site for infections that can travel to the brain. This is why it is so important to get sinus infections treated, etc. If they linger on and on the bacteria can sneak in through this little porthole. it doesn't happen a lot, but the potential is always there.

Obviously things can happen to trigger the impulses in this area that lead to a lot of misery. I can tell you what to look for on a "search" but if you search for information on anatomy of nose and nerve center in nose, etc. Just keep at it till you get some info that leads you into more info. Good luck. Irish ;D

I have a terrible burning in my nose but I think it is caused by the excessive dryness. I treat the dry nose and the burning goes away. (for a while anyway)
