Anyone else get frequent foot cramps?  Is this common with peripheral neuropathy?

Sometimes my hands feel like they're about to cramp as well, mostly my little fingers and the ones next to them.

I eat a banana a day to keep my potassium in the normal range.  I take a calcium supplement as well.

Had a blood test for magnesium level today but I don't know the results yet.

I get foot and hand cramps frequently.  I have neuropathy in both hands and both feet with lots of burning and tenderness despite taking 1800 mg. gabapentin daily.  Lately, my fingers are really painful (2 on left hand and 3 on right hand) It hurts to type and takes me so blasted long.  I used to type 80 wpm - now it's almost hunt and peck because I'm trying to avoid the most painful fingers.  If I can't prop my feet up, I am in severe pain after 30 minutes.  I even take a foot stool to church and I also use a cane.

Debbie, I'm sure my complaints don't help you; but, at least you know you are not alone.

Blessings,
Jorja

Debbie - I get foot cramps often! They are sooo painful and they last forever, it seems.

I don't have neuropathy - I think. I hope.

They kind of come and go, whether I am getting a lot of potassium or not.

Take care,

Hi Debbie,
I get the foot and hand cramps too. Since the weather where I am has gotten colder the cramps are worse. Sometimes they just ache and sometimes I get shooting pains. I eat dried apricots for potassium and take magnesium and calcium, but the only thing that works for me aside from pain meds is keeping them warm.

I hope you get some relief

Yes...I get feet/toe cramps and my hands are mega weak.  I have found also that bananas are very helpful in this arena! Hope it eases up soon.
