I say "mucus membranes" and I list all areas of the body that Sjogrens can attack!  It's the Ophthalmologists who don't understand that it's a systemic condition.

That was my thinking too Irish after having kept quiet for the first four or so years.  I started to think why am I keeping it a secret?  Why bother (as there are far more seriously ill folks that work around that area that I know about and they're not hiding)?

I do understand that in some companies or industries you have to be very careful on who knows what, and I sure feel for those in that situation and am sending a giant ( H U G ).

And Cheryl, and the next time that you see him, blow a raspberry at him!

I like to throw the word "incurable" in there...that seems to lend some gravitas to what I'm telling a person.  I also use "like lupus."  I hate that glazed look, though, so I usually don't share.  Of course when I've completely forgotten a meeting or messed something up with the PTO I tend to bring it up more...
