My spoons are so long gone....

Halloween has stolen my spoons for the next 2 weeks I think.  All 3 kids had parties at school today and I was in charge of my 5th grader's.  Way too much lifting, walking, standing, talking.  And then I had to make dinner tonight and force feed the kids since they were *so* amped up to trick-or-treat.

My husband took them out, thank goodness, because I could barely hobble to the door to hand out the WAY TOO MUCH chocolate I bought. My ankles, shins, and feet hurt so badly they are almost numb.  My hip is throbbing. And now I can't frickin' sleep.  I hate this stupid disease.  I hate that I have to give everything I have to appear "normal" to the other parents/teachers/kids at school.  It's such an acting job that it physically and mentally depletes me.  And WHY CAN'T I SLEEP?  <laying in bed having temper tantrum now.>

To add to my pity party, my husband is going out of town for the next couple days.  I hate his job too.  So there.

Thanks for the vent and for getting it.

MB.........I haven't gone to bed yet (my time 1:00 a.m.) and I just posted a bunch of stuff about my knee surgery day after tomorrow.  I don't have kids at home, but my knees are like broken cement and day after tomorrow I'll have a new one.  Hopefully a year or so after that I can get the partial replacement torn out and have a whole new one for that knee too.  I am barely jumping around on one foot using crutches, walker, chair or whatever is handy for the other side.

My hubby has been cranky tonight and he's in bed.  I don't blame him.  To help matters, we had lots of candy and no kids TT so I've been into that.  I am going to try and warm up a little and crawl into bed.  I do hope you got to sleep.  Maybe when your hubby is gone you can put the kids to bed early and pack it in too.  Have a good Tuesday.  Lucy

I hope you two get to feeling better. I felt the stiffness and pain in my leg hip joints where they connect today. I had been on my feet a lot yesterday and today though.

My memory is getting so bad. Oh well. I seem to have a better sense of humor than I use to.

I don't like it that it turned cold, and my humming birds are gone. lol.....I also kept taking in and out my pretty blooming potted plants, but forgot one night, and now they are frost history.  ::)

Poor sweet JMK, I'm so sorry you had a tough day. I know, though, that you made some good memories for your children!

It's hard having to act well all the time. I don't know why we do it.

I'm so glad you could vent with us! I hope you'll take today to be kind to yourself, and take it easy.

Thinking warm and comforting thoughts,

I'm having one of those days too, MB. Not feeling well and angry too. Wonder if it's possible to have negative spoons....

Pain, and anticipation of being in pain, makes it hard for me to sleep. Sometimes, I wonder why I bother sleeping since I don't sleep well any way. But I suppose poor sleep is better than no sleep.

I've found that wrapping myself rather tightly in my fleece robe, wearing socks and gloves/wrist braces helps minimize the pain whe I sleep. Probably need a new mattress too, but can't afford it now.

Hugs to you. That is a lot, I have been there. Last night my youngest had a severe acid reflux attack and a weird fever and was up screaming in pain until 230 and i patted his back, snuggled, whatever but no sleep. Up at 730 to get the big two to school. *sigh*

Try and rest if you can! If my cell phone hadn't singer to remind me I have an appt with my gyn today I would be napping too. as it is, managing my pcos is prob more important :p

Thanks everyone.  I'm better today although still paying a price!  Thanks for reading my whiny rant.  :)  Bring on Thanksgiving!
