Coloring my hair while taking generic plaquenil?

The first time I had my hair colored after starting plaquenil, I looked like Ronald McDonald. My stylist doesn't know what plaquenil is, but she knows I am on "that weird medicine". She told me with the mix she uses for my coloring, I should have green hair, but we finally got it right, no more red for me.

I'm envious! I was a natural red head but started to boost the color with dye in my 30s when gray started popping up. Colored my hair for 20 years with no problems. Then last year, I suddenly became allergic to the hair dye. Broke out in huge hives all over my body. I tried coloring my hair once more but had the same results. No idea why. Can I blame it on the SjS?

So...I'm now a sad, mousy gray. Combine that with new glasses (had to give up my contacts due to dry eye), giving up makeup (skin is too dry and itchy) and a weight gain of 50 pounds and I don't even recognize myself in the mirror anymore.

I miss "me".

Hi Dee,
Try finding a chemically sensituve hair salon. They use dyes without formadehyde and phenylendimine ect  You might still be able to color your hair.

I have suffered with shampoo, hair product allergies for 18 plus years. I think that was my first SJS symptom.
