I was wondering if anyone else here has experienced some of the same things that are going on with me.

I'm having a really hard time adjusting to my new glasses. Very upset about that, since they're both very pretty and kind of pricey. I picked them up on wednesday, but I can't wear them for more than a couple of hours if I'm doing stuff and my eyes start hurting after a couple minutes if I'm reading. When I had my eye exam, my eyes were horribly painfully dry (dr confirmed that- just had a tiny bit of moisture by my tear ducts)... could the dryness have effected measuring for a change in prescription? In the past, its only taken me a day or two to adjust to new glasses, but my eyes weren't this dry then.

I'll also get pain where my stomach is from time to time that had a "dry" quality to it. Anyone else?

I also have noticed my ankles and shoulders are much more crackly now.

Any one have abscesses in their skin? Have a huge one on my leg and one on my chest that just popped.

I just had my eyes checked last month immed. after work (was on the computer all day) and they had to put saline drops in my eyes because I could not read any of the charts. I do wonder how accurate the prescription is and if it would be different if I went on a day when my eyes were more rested and lubricated.

You may want to have your glasses rechecked where you picked them up. I once had a pair of glasses that was giving me headaches and feeling very dizzy (esp. w/stairs). They re-checked my prescription then checked the lenses in my glasses. They had inserted the lenses on the wrong side and s/b reversed!  Always better to go back earlier with your concerns then wait too long and be uncomfortable.

Ditto Sadie's comment--opticians do make mistakes.

Did you have an increase in your astigmatism correction, by any chance? My optometrist told me this is a common reason we sometimes can't adjust. Happened to me last time---had to back off the increase because I couldn't get used to it.

Don't worry, optical shops build in the cost of at least one remake, even if it's not an error at all. If it's their error, they should re-do no questions asked.

As Cali66 said a change in correction for astigmatism can make it difficult to adjust to new glasses. This just happened to me and my eye doctor explained why. Now my glasses are fine and I see well.

I have had a similar problem. The first time it was from the glasses not matching the Rx. The Second time it was that the Rx was wrong. Now the doctor works a little slower with me. I hope that I do not have this again.

I would start by taking the glasses back to make sure they match the Rx.
