What exactly does Prednisone help?

For those like with Sjogren's syndrome who've had inflammation for some time. Does Prednisone make immediate noticable improvement? Or does it take some time to start working?

I had read that it can take months to notice improvement on those with chronic inflammation.

You may be confusing Plaquenil and Prednisone. 
Sjogren's syndrome, RA,  Raynaud's phenomenon, Celiac Disease, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Grave's Disease, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Osteopenia, Cervical Stenosis

Gabapentin, Methotrexate, Synthroid, Dexilant, Domperidone, Metronidazole, Pennsaid, folic acid.
