All summer I have been having trouble with my knee, hurting and sometimes giving out on me. Last night I was getting up from the kitchen chair and I got all this horrible pain and could not walk on my leg.

Morning finally came and I called the Dr, it was his day off.  The nurse called him at the hospital and he said he would meet me at the office. His office could not do a x-ray today but he gave me a shot of cortisone and I have to go back on Monday for x-rays and see how I am doing.

He thinks I either torn cartilage or some bone from a spur broke off.  Said I am probally looking a knee replacement down the line. So for the weekend stuck in bed cause it is the least painfull getting out of here vs. chair.

I had the same thing. My ortho said I need knee replacements in both knees, but I'm kinda young for that. He did orthoscopic surgery on both knees as a stop gap. I go in a sometimes for visosupplication.
I miss the good old days. Things were more like they used to be back then.

Hi cricket  :)

I had a partial knee replacement in 2006. (Only one side was really damaged) It's the best thing i ever did. It took me from disabled to able to walk again. I'm not at all aware that it's a 'replacement' any more. Feels just like my old knee before it had problems. If that is what you need - go for it!

Take care - Scottie  :)

Hi

I had a patello-femoral resurface of my left knee about 5 years ago.  The bones were worn from years of ballet dancing.  Now my right need keeps giving way with a really sharp pain on the outer side of my knee.  It is so painful  when that happens that it takes my breath away.  Just hope I can put surgery off as I can't afford time off work.
