After weeks of feeling so much better I started the new year with a cold and then a trip to urgent care at 3am! Whew lots of fun there, I had the loveliness of kidney stones! I guess thats another thing I can add to the list! But the night nurse that was feeding me the pain killers was a hoot.  He let me know he'd had them 8 times and told me make sure not to have them on an airplane because you can't go anywhere! I don't even want to imagine that!

Anyone else have the pleasure of kidney stones?  I think this is my second episode, there was a hospital visit when I was in college that they thought but never confirmed them.  So I'm destined to have them again!  ;D

  Ouch Becky !
Ive not had kidney stones, but I once had a kidney infection and that was bad enough..

Yea, the thought of being on an airplane and being ill with anything is real scary!

Hope someone can come along and recommend something that might deter them..
                                                                      Cheers Dolly,

Patze

No kidney stones, but plenty of kidney pain from hydronephrosis and wires being jammed through my back into a kidney and then to my bladder.  I can only imagine the pain :'(

I've never had kidney stones, but my coworker's daughter has SJS, and she gets them fairly regularly.  Her doctor definitely blames Sjogren's.

I'm a newbie.  I had shirmers done a couple of years ago and was borderline.  My bloods did not show any markers.  Had my rheumy appointment and when I went in the first thing she mentioned was my kidney stones I had been hospitalised with at Christmas.  Apparently that, and the Plaquenil reducing my CRP levels swung my dx to sjs.  I also have fibromyalgia.

Like the OP I had mine at Christmas.  I had a pain on Christmas day as we sat down to dinner but a couple of Tramadol and a couple of brandies killed the pain.  Unfortunately on the 27th it flared up big style and I had to go to hospital.  The first question the receptionist asked was "have you been sick?"...."er No says I".  She goes off to get a nurse as I was bent over the desk in pain, she was only gone a few seconds and I was sick (big style).   Luckily, I had been taken in by my neighbour who is an anaesthetist so they fast tracked me.  Was I glad to get a morphine jab.  trouble was, when it wore off, I was ill again.  I had another jab and a CT scan.  According to the doctor there was no wonder I was in pain as my stone was 2.5 cm!  The next day when I was on the ward, it turned out that when the consultant looked at the scan, I had two smaller stones.  The large 'stone' was actually my sterilising clip!  I was in hospital until new year with no sign of the stone passing so was sent home with some meds and the ward number to call if I was in pain.  I went back a week later.  Not sure when I got rid of the small stones but I got fed up of weeing into a sieve to try and catch anything!    As I am sat here I am having similar niggling pains and hope it is not kicking off again.

Came on here to learn more about the Sjogrens as I have only been dx about 10 days.  I want to ask if anyone has experience of kidney stones on multiple occasions.  I had some tests about 15 years ago for kidney stones but that was after the pain had gone so nothing showed up.

Welcome divingdancer

Those kidney stones sounds awfully painful. Thankfully, I haven't had them but, as Joe says, other members have, so I'm sure they will be popping in soon to speak with you.
