If dry mouth is a problem, you should ask your doctor about Evoxac or Salagen.  I take Evoxac as needed up to three times a day.  My eyes are much worse than my mouth, so I usually only need it once or twice a day.  These medications help you produce more saliva, and your own saliva is the best thing for your mouth.

You can also try Biotene products, chew sugarless gum, or try Hall's Refresh or another hydrating drop.

My mouth isn't "acting" up right now but my eyes are horrible. I wear contacts and I go thru stages where my eyes produce these stringy things and I can't wear my contacts. My eye dr. a year ago told me I had really dry eyes but passed the eye stringies off as allergic to my contact material (even though I've had them for years!). Do any of you who have dry eyes have anything like this? This must be a bad day for everything because my hip is hurting so bad and I could barely stand when talking to one of my co-workers. My legs feel like they can't hold me up :(

I wore the same contacts for years until I was in college and developed what I now believe was a serious SJS flare.  The doctors at school thought it was pink eye.  Then, I came home and saw an ophthalmologist who said I was allergic to my contacts.  I switched brands and things calmed down a lot.  I think the flare had just passed by that point.

Now, I can only wear my contacts for a few hours at a time and mostly stick to glasses. I was able to wear my contacts until a few months ago, but now my eyes are just too dry.

ughh how awful! I so feel for you. I hate wearing my glasses (especially not being able to wear sunglasses as my eyes are so sensitive to light!) Haven't quite gone the way of the clip-on sunglasses yet LOL Some days they are fine-others like today I couldn't stand it. I tried 3 different pairs last year and I had the same thing happen so I'm sure it's not an allergic reaction.

I just wish my biopsy results would come in. They said a week. I'm not good at waiting!!
