You'll be feeling like you are on a bit of an emotional roller coaster for the next while.  That's a lot to take in, even though you were likely expecting it.

I can tell you that you will feel a sense of relief now that you know what you are dealing with...take care.  ;)
Sjogren's syndrome, RA,  Raynaud's phenomenon, Celiac Disease, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Grave's Disease, Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Osteopenia, Cervical Stenosis

"Flat"

That's a good way to describe it....kinda a double edged sword!

Glad ya at least have a dx and can try to get treatment!

Y-glad you have a diagnosis.  It is best to know so you can make a plan with your doctor.  Lucy

ynever,

I can understand your feeling this way. It is a roller coaster of emotions, or sometimes lack of them. Sometimes it's shocking for us, even though we have been searching and searching for answers for a while.

It is a positive thing that you know what you're dealing with. That gives you some control over the situation. Take care of yourself for now and then you and your docs can look at treatments to help.
Sending you hope and blessings,

Melinda

I felt the same way.

It takes time, but it will sink in and then you can start getting proper treatment.

Hi Ynevar  :)

OK - you got the label. Everything is exactly the same as the day before you got the label - except that medics may take you more seriously from here on in. No one wants the label but it's better to know what you're dealing with than to suspect you know.

There IS life after SjS!!

Take care - Scottie  :)

Sometimes I think of "flat" as almost neutral, which is not a bad place to be.
I always try to remind myself that just because you get a certain diagnosis, it really says nothing about the outcome or course of the disease----that is always individual. I like to think this way because it leaves room for plenty of hope.
P.S. I love what you wrote in the marriage thread!!

Hi Ynever,

I'm glad that you finally have your answer, and I know what a pain that can be.  When the rheumy finally used SJS instead of SICCA, I darn near missed it (the rheumy can speak a bit fast or is that my ears hear a bit slower these days?).

Take care of yourself and stay warm -

Patze
