Laryngitis again

Well, I've been in my new job-- teaching high school-- for three weeks and guess what? Home sick today with laryngitis and a feeling like this is about to develop into bronchitis or pneumonia.  I get this every year, but I really feel the pressure as the newbie at work.  How am I going to do it??  I don't want to take any more days, but I can't make a peep.  I've taught before with complete laryngitis-- sometimes the classes are really good and I can write assignments on the board.  But I know that I'm going to feel compelled to try to talk.  I feel like I'm about to just fall out with dizziness and exhaustion.  I feel like I have a weight on my chest and I've been coughing up junk for days.

Does this happen to anybody else??  I really think the dry mouth complicates matters and I've been drinking water and sucking on lozenges like crazy at school-- but then I can't use the bathroom for hours on end, so that's a real catch.

This just makes me depressed.  :'(

Oh  you poor girl,   We have had quite a few teachers on site who have had big problems trying to work with this pest!

i think you should really explain to your superiors about your condition, I'm sure they will be sympathetic.

Maybe one of the teachers here will come along with a few tips on how to get through the day but,

if one is ill then they cannot help it, and you must put yourself first here,

Do you use a mouth gel for the dryness, also try sucking lemon drops instead of water,
and when you do have water,  just  a sip at a time..
Do please see your medic and tell them of your problem too.Your tightness could well be down to stress which you surely will be.
                         best of luck, Dolly
