It is a video on how doctors use placebos and how placebos work even when patients KNOW it is a placebo.  Only thing that disturbs me is the 'prescribing of placebos for chronic pain patients without them knowing'.

Makes me wonder how many people go home and suffer in silence, and the doctor thinks the placebo is working.  I don't know....placebos seem unethical to me.

On the other hand, I can't comprehend some one getting better on a placebo, if they know it is a placebo....then they were not sick in the first place.

My phone wouldn't play the video but here is my experience with placebos...

My now 14 yo daughter was on adderal 30 mg. There is a lot of controversies with the use of adhd meds and her dad didn't agree with them. Well here's what we did...at a med check we had the her pediatrician give us a prescription for adderal generic so she would suspect them to look different. We substituted the real ones with orange tic tacs and told her to let us know if hey help more than the other ones. Two days later she said, "mom, I don't think these are working cuz im getting in a lot more trouble at school and I can't shut up!" Lol she was 9 but if its helping and ya take it away...I think even kids can tell the difference;) her dad couldn't argue anymore that it is just her mind thinking the meds were helping:P

I would have liked to have watched it.
