Why is it always 'something'?

My mouth/throat sores finally cleared up. I gave a sigh of relief and hoped that I might be able to enjoy all of the upcoming Christmas treats.

Then, three days ago, the pain/stiffness I've been battling in the 'back' of both knees suddenly skyrocketed on the left one. No swelling, hot spots, or redness - it's a stabbing pain that doesn't ease up. A quick google points towards Baker Cysts, but my natural paranoia leaps to fear of a brain exploding blood clot. I AM my own worst enemy. *shaking head and "tisking" at myself*

Then two nights ago I began taking Zocor for high cholesterol. This morning I woke up feeling horrible. My arms and legs ache. Random places feel numb. I'm not really dizzy but feel "off-balanced" and really on edge. I assume it's a reaction to the new medication. Will it go away or get worse? Who freaking knows...

I'm glad that I'm not working outside the home right now and don't have to slap on a happy face for the public, but I'm unhappy because I'm now the live-in caregiver for my mom - and that's a 24/7 job. Plus we moved here to Michigan only a month ago. I'm homesick/lonely and miss the security of nearby family, a doctor who knew me well, and the support of close friends.

Sounds like you are really going through a rough time of it! (:
Kamie, good words of wisdom; you said it well.  And, so many changes in our lives can really do a number on us. I know...

We are about the same age. Do you remember Gilda Radnor on SNL in character saying "well, it's ALWAYS someting". I have to smile when I think of her. Sojogren's and related "crap" seems to be the same; the gift that keeps on giving.
But, I agree with Kamie; check with the pharmacist, try to be good to yourself and remember if even you don't have friends living close by right now, you have all of us! We care!

sha`s right...(don`t tell `er) my papa is an uber sweet man but that bein`said he`s cantakorous @ times & always seems ta believe my schedule no matter what has ta adhere ta his! suck it up is my new motto!
(it used ta be i gotta stick `round & suffer like the rest of `em)!

i am sorry ur havin` ta deal w/any of  it  & suck it up tho! its no bucket of silly string ta have ta do the suckin` up when half the time u actually feel worse than ur elderly parent & they just DON`t get it! (i can be hobblin` w/my puke bucket tryin` ta make my~out~ not lubricated bursitis joints ta just get me 2 the bathroom  & he can w/out hesitation say hey...kid why don`t we go cut up that wood)! not messin`w/u or exaggeratin`ASK SHA!
yeh papa lemme get dressed is all i say! sha says i talk papaneeze like mom! so she gets ta be kid & i get ta take over my mama`s spot! (they were married 54 yrs & tagether 57 b4 she passed! so the guy don`t know how ta BE w/out a woman ta do his biddin` & honey just do it jobs!
1 thing i got goin 4 me is I DO IT WELL & know what he wants! (he`s also more comfy in me seein` him in tighty whities than I AM but i`m tryin` ta get used ta that!)
the other night i ran a bath 4 him he gets in & calls me in ta ~feel his leg cause he wanted me ta try this soap he likes! no need ta hide the junk there papa!) eh all i say is ...oh u is soft like a baby bunny papa...i`ll have ta try it! giggle giggle! gotta find the funny bunny or CRY!

i wish i could say that it`ll get better but if i take a feild trip ta reality  i KNOW that when we finally get used ta each others idiosyncrisies...AGE`LL CHANGE THINGS AGAIN! & prob. not 4 the better!

You couldn't pay me enough to take chlorestoral medication.
As for the treats .. don't eat them.
Sugar and any wheat products are triggers for Sjogrens.
(that's according to the Sjogrens foundation).

deeindiana~was just thinkin' of u & ur ma & thought i would say it is very challengin' ta be us w/disabilities & still have ta worry & suck it up...
(so ta say) 4 our parents who now need us now! it takes extreme patience & alot of luv! but i know how taxin' it can become!

Just wanted to let you know my husband was on a medication for high cholesterol and he began feeling bad.  When he went in for a check up the doc told him to stop the medicine and see if he felt better, which he did.  Maybe a call to the doctor would be in order?  Hang in there!!

"The next problem is already in the mail."

If it feels like it's always something, that's because it IS ALWAYS SOMETHING.

And with autoimmune conditions, or advancing age, or both, those 'problem somethings' are often medical/physical/painful.

Rule:   New problem follows new medication?   Start there.
