First time for everything

Never internet shopped for anything,, but went to overstock.com and finished up my shopping,,, got my wife a few things,, and they have free shipping,, for you who need to get a few things,, I recommend it,, but i;m sure you old timers who are more tech savy then me have allready doneit,, but theres still time,, and it saved me a trip to the mall,, she likes that Ciara perfume,, walmart is 25 bucks,, I got the same size on there for 15,,,

I did about 1/4 of my shopping online this year.  I am waiting on one more package to arrive, then I am done!!  It was really nice to not to have to looking for some things.  The rest of the shopping my daughter helped me on black Friday at a small Walmart. It was not packed at all like I expected.  The only thing I will change, is I will go to bed EARLY the night before.  I didn't get a nap and was really worn out after getting up at 3:00 a.m.  I am usually a last minute shopper, but it felt so good to get done long before Christmas, I will probably do it again next year.

I did the black friday once,, I dont think I want to do it again,, it wasent that it was a horrible experience,, its just that I wasent excited about being up half the night and running to get what I wanted,, a computer that has long since been stuffed in a box in the closet,, complared to todays computers,, its no better then a dollar calculator

I buy nearly everything on-line.   I don't live in a very populated area so its easiest for me.  Plus I hate shopping in stores.    I did go to a K-mart yesterday and was walking to the registers following a lady and she dead stopped in the middle of the aisle.  I said "excuse me...right behind ya".   She let me pass then mocked me by repeating what I said after I passed. 
I wish I had more faith in the manners of people.   This is why I like to shop on-line.

I love on-line shopping. Between working and trying to keep up some semblence of a home life I just do not have the energy to hit the stores. I did probably 95% of my shopping online. All I need to do is get a couple of gift certificates and stocking stuffers and I'm set!

British type Christmas crackers (you pull, they pop and have a funny hat and prize inside) for the Christmas dinner!!!    

Cat food!!!  

Chairs for the kitchen table.

A small refrigerator for cold drinks!!!

A down comforter!!!

Bird feeders and bird food!!!

Steak Knives!!

I order EVERYTHING on line.

My son in Paris does his grocery shopping on line, and it is delivered to his 6th floor apartment at no additional cost!!

Imagine the time and effort saved in not driving to the store, parking, getting a cart, finding the food, taking it from the shelf, putting it in the basket, on the conveyor belt, into the car, out of the car, up the stairs to the elevator, and into the apartment.

Instead:  point, click, Open door, voila!  Groceries.

When ordering at Amazon.com I choose only to see the SuperSaver items.  Which means if I order $25 or more, no shipping, and of course NO TAX.

I do serious Google comparison shopping first to be sure that I can't get it somewhere else cheaper, even with free shipping and no tax, it might be cheaper else where.

And if you want to return stuff to Amazon, THEY will give you a package return label with the postage on it!  Print it, stick it on the package, take it to UPS.   If it's their fault you're returning it, the postage is free.  If you just decide you don't want it, they deduct the postage from your refund.

But you don't have to stand in line at the PO!  YAY AMAZON.

Now I'm the sort of person who shops ONLY at Walmart, Sam's and Costco....or Kohl's when I have 30% off.   So I am very very price oriented.

I'm also the sort of person who has a subscription to Consumer Reports on line, and checks out every single major purchase to be sure I'm getting reasonable quality, as well.

Our flat screen TV, on line, camera, on line, Crocs, on line, computers, blah blah blah.

Not my family or cats, tho'.   Nope, not on line.

But I know oodles of romances and marriages that started on line now.   And I'm sure some shelters let you see their adorable animals on line.

Wait, I actually DID see my older cat's pedigree and parents on line at the breeder's website!

Yes, online shopping is the best!  I keep it to a minimum, but like Elaine was saying, you can find just about anything. I don't like crowds, don't like the mall, and have a hard time walking around for long, so online is fantastic.

Last Christmas I ordered my husband a home-brewing beer kit (he loved it) and a couple of other things. Funny about the beer, our younger adult son (who likes a beer here and there) thought it was sooo cool til he learned it took 14 days to ferment. He said "14 DAYS?! That's way too long to wait for a beer!"

I DID get a little crazy when I ordered lots of stuff for our daughter's wedding last year. Reception decor, flowers, a 10' x 20' tent (!) and even her dress. Husband really started checking out the banking when a brown box showed up every other day or so for a month - big boxes, little boxes, here a box, there a box...
I think you'll find lots more options, navydad, now that you're started.

I have been ordering Christmas for several years now. It is wonderful!

Today I went to the mall with my friend and I am hurting so bad this evening. I was going to bake cookies tonight but I am going to lay on the couch. I don't think I will be doing the mall again for quite awhile.

I love online shopping. I can't walk much any more, so it's way more convenient. Walmart has the scooters, so I do shop there sometimes. Most stores don't though. If I want to buy clothes from jc penny or kohl's I gotta do it online.

Does anyone know of any place besides Walmart that has scooters? I kinda get sick of Walmart and t's nice to get out every once in a while....

I'm too afraid of GERMS in the stores now.
