I'm thinking about getting back into the dating again and I was wondering what I might need to know in regards to the Sjogren's.

I'm still young so I might not be the best at giving advice.

But I do recommend to let the person you might be considering dating/have a serious relation with know about your disease.
Of course not on the first date.
But soon enough so he will be aware of it.
And can decide if he wants to settle with you, although you have a chronical illness.
It's not easy to explain Sjogren to someone.

But it's important to let them know, some people get scared by the thougt of having to see their (future)loved one suffer.
Or that you cannot always go out due to not feeling well.
So don't be disappointed if a guy denies you because of this, although that's quite rude.
But some people just can't really help it, and it's better to make them aware of you having Sjogren soon enough.
So you don't need to do this when you develop feelings and might get heartbroken/disappointed.

Also, always remember to put yourself before anything and anyone.
it's very important to avoid stress and take good care of yourself, no matter what.

Hopefully more people will be able to offer you advice, hope I helped a little.

Hugs and love. <3

Shani

Aww, thank you Lizzy!
Much love to you. :-*

 Yes Shani, well said!
Doodlebug, i can't add much more advice, except to say that it should be no big deal,
no one knows when anything drastic is going to come along and change a person ,
we all take each other for better or worse, so tell him straight away,
his first reaction will tell you what he is thinking! good luck, Dolly x

Hi,

I was really shocked to see this post! I'm 49 years young and thought my dating was over, well i met someone two weeks ago. We have been out several times, I really

enjoy his company. I finally decided to let him know I have sjogrens. He looked at me very calmly and said "Oh really? My mom has Sjogrens" I asked if he was sure it was

Sjogrens? He said yes, she always has a water bottle with her. I couldn't believe it. His mom is 76 and has cancer and alot going on, so I thought I better fill him in on

all the things I have going on. He is so sweet, he just calls and asks if I feel up to going out!!! I really like him. Soooo, we will see how it goes. I know I'm keeping my

fingers crossed!

Just never say never like I was doing! You never know!
