Preparing for the holidays.

I have tried to prepare ahead.  Minimum decorating is done.   My shopping's done, but not all the wrapping.   I have made several types of goodies.   Today I made sugar cookie dough in 2 colors.   My daughter is coming tomorrow to help roll, cut, bake and decorate them.  When my family are all here on Christmas Eve Day, we're having homemade soups and sandwiches with the various goodies.  There is no big meal to coordinate, and the soups can stay hot in crockpots.  Cleanup is easier, too, with less food to wrap and refrigerate.  (One year we grilled steaks for Christmas dinner.   That was pricey, but I recommend it for an easy meal!)
