How long does it last?  I am more swollen today than I was on Monday, when it was first done.

Y- this is something you'll just have to wait and see.  I looked like I had a chaw of tobacco for at least a week.  As long as it doesn't seem like it's infected or anything, it should go down soon.  Try putting a cold compress, or a little ice wrapped in a cloth on the area for 10 min or so, a couple of times a day. That might help.  Lucy

For my first biopsy, the swelling lasted 3-4 days before it went down noticeably.  I put ice on it immediately following the procedure and several times after I got home but it still swelled quite a bit and I had a huge bruise.   The HNT surgeon also removed, at my request, a fibroma inside my lower lip at the same time, so he did a bigger incision for that reason.

The second one, for a SjS study, was a smaller incision and only took 2-3 stitches.  It didn't swell or bruise as much as the first one and I assume it was because it was small.
