Any Suggestions for my Cousin??

Hi Guys,

My young Cousin ( she is 14 ) has has Coeliacs since she was 3 years old.. rather badly actually where any exposure to gluten makes her incredibly sick..  over the last few years she has been developing another autoimmune illness to which the Rheummy ( we go to the same one who is a complete a#@E and minimizes my illness and thus after seems to want to just throw different drugs at my cousin without testing or investigating which/what illness she has.)  She has symptoms of aching joints- hips, shoulders, wrists and back, fatigue, she is very very pale, recently started complaining of a dry mouth..

She has low Vit D and also a low white blood cell count ( this is a recent development)

the Rheummy states she is " brewing up a secondary autoimmune disease" ( he said the same thing about me ) and he wont be able to dx it until it emerges.. which I think is a cop out

any ideas of what we should look at test wise that might help us narrow things down??

Before you start testing, sounds like you need to find another rheumy.  Then start at the beginning with labs.  It may direct you were you need to go next.
