SLEEPY101

I had my yearly Endocrinologist appt yesterday. The old Doc really came through for me. As some of you know, a sudden change in my insurance and Dr's left me without pain meds and other medications. I don't see my GP until Nov and the new Rheumy until March 2011. He thought this was crazy and started writing presciptions for everything I needed even though it is not in his specialty. He said is I am in this much pain then someone is not doing there job.

He did a Ultrasound on my Thyroid. He cannot believe how damaged my thyroid and that is does not effect my levels. He said it is almost medically impossible that it is so damage and I am not on Thyroid meds. He is going to continue to monitor my nodules to make sure they don't grow.

Hey sleepy
Does he recommend you start thyroid meds?  Or are you feeling ok-no symptoms of being hypothyroid.

So glad to hear that your doc came through for you...nice to hear he has compassion for his patients!

@CM
  after I got home I wished I would have asked more questions. Because my TSH levels are good he didn't want to put me on any meds yets. Once the Thyroid stops working for good then he would put me on them. But I am wondering if I still feel symptoms. I asked him about the pain in my neck and he said it was due to the inflammation in my Thyroid.

@Lynn
  He must have been having a bad day on my visit. Yesterday he was very friendly and helpful.

sleepy, sure sounds like your doc gave you some much needed attention. It is interesting what he said about the pain in your thyroid. I had so much pain for years and it hurt all the time plus made it hard to talk. I would sleep with a hot water bottle on my neck and I took a couple of Aleve with did help with some of the pain.

Glad to hear that you got the meds you needed and hope that there are no emergencies while waiting to see your doctors. Good luck. IRish ;D
