Hi everyone,

I have been experiencing a really dry mouth again, I brush my teeth 4 times a day with biotene toothpaste to protect against decaying and all that... but then I just noticed my teeth are getting a bit yellow on the sides of it and a few holes coming along.
It really frustrates me because I've always had no issues with that and have white teeth myself.
I might try buying other products like a mouthspray and so on, see how that goes.

Is there anything the denstist can do about this?(I'm making my appointment this week.)+Any tips on keeping my mouth/teeth in good health would be appreciated.<3

Hi, Shani.

Are you taking Evoxac or Salagen?

I take Evoxac and it really helps with my dry mouth.  It's not an invasive medication that builds up in the body; it works in about 20 minutes, and I haven't experienced any side effects.  It is expensive if you don't have insurance, but it would be worth a try if you do.

Best wishes,
C.

Thank you Dragonfly, and no I haven't heard about it untill now.
I'll ask my doctor about it on the next appointment.

Happy to help!

You might even want to call in to say that your dry mouth is getting worse and you're hoping your doctor will write a prescription for one of these medications.  Neither is a narcotic or anything that people might abuse, so he/she might be willing to call it in without seeing you first (or he/she might fit you in earlier!).

Dry mouth is serious, as your dental issues prove.  I think it's worth looking into whether you can get help sooner rather than later.

Best wishes,
C.

Hi  :)

My teeth were always a little on the yellow side - apparently because of antibiotics I was given when I was very young. In my early teens I was very self concious about them and brushed them assiduously after every meal. Imagine my horror aged 14, to go to the dentist and be told I needed 14 fillings in my front lower teeth.  He said I'd basically brushed the enamel off them.

I've only brushed twice a day ever since.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Are you taking Evoxac or Salagen?

I take pilocarpine which is generic for Salagen...much cheaper.

Has made a world of difference in mouth moisture.
