Hi everyone.
I'm on a little vacation with hubby and visiting some relatives.  Had supper with his neice tonight and have plans for the next couple of days.  It is hot here.  Our hotel
is nice so the A/C is cranking out good.

Well, I won't go on about "how I'm feeling."  It comes and goes, but am enjoying myself.  I want to say that yesterday on the way down here, I had the best two hours sleep in the car that I've ever had.  I fell asleep and before I knew it, I was awake.  I want more of that.  Lucy

Hope you enjoy NC.  What area of the state are you in?

It is rather hot, but I guess we're used to it.

Hi all.
I'm home after 6 days away, most of it on the road.  Thankfully, my hubby does all of the driving.  Oddly enough, I had a couple of long naps while on the road and it was the most refreshing sleep I can remember having!! I told him he'd have to take me out riding so I could recline and sleep.

It also rained while we were on the road about 60% of the time.  We left MI and went to PA for a graduation party of my sister's grandaughter.  My sister passed away last Sept, so this was a special time for us to go. From Pittsburgh area, we went to Fayetteville area and stayed for a couple of days.  Had a nice hotel and some nice time together with husband's neice.   It's 900+ miles from NC to home and I said I wasn't going to make that in one day so we took two days for the trip home.  Glad to be back and don't seem too tired as I slept much of the time we were riding.  Lucy

Lucy, I am so glad that you had a safe trip and a good time. I know just what you mean about sleeping in the car. I can take the best naps with my seat reclined. I have learned to take a big bath towel along with me and I sort of cover here and there to keep the sun off of me and snuggle ie around my chin and then over my eyes. I snuggle down like a bear and just sleep. Hubby says that I snore. Rest up good now. Say, maybe if you are a good girl hubby will take you out and about another time this summer. Irish

Irish, I'm pretty short so I can get a good "curl up" going.  I have 2 bed size pillows and use them as headrests.  Sort of crinkles against the car door.  I also have a jacket or sweatshirt that I put over my eyes to keep the sun out, but try to leave room over my nose and mouth so I don't smother.  Wouldn't that be something?

I just loved those naps in the car.  Most times I try to sleep, I can't but this time was different.  Lucy

I am like an infant, put me in a car and off to sleep I go! Funny to see how life's tables have turned on me.  :D

Glad to hear that you're doing well Lucy, and happy to hear that you can nap in the car, I'm so jealous! :)

Eye,

We were in Fayettville around the same time. I spent a week there at my daughter's and son in law's, went to care for her for a few days and to pick up my 3 year old grandbaby. I flew there, but because grand daughter's ears seem to give her a lot of trouble when she fly my husband and brother in law came for us.

Well, that drive for me was a nightmare! I shared the back seat of our SUV with my grand daughter who was in a carseat. I'm short too, but there just was not enough room for me to stretch my legs out what with all the stuff (toys and snacks) needed for Grand. I thought I would go insane if I didn't make it home soon. Like a child I kept waking wanting to know where the heck we were, how much longer! She was a perfect rider!!

I'm used to my front seat where I too curl up/ recline and snore! ::) ;)

Patze, it isn't always that I can sleep in the car.  But this time was absolutely the best time ever.  It was raining and maybe that had something to do with it.
