i have been on voltaren a week as of wed.

does this sound like SE from nsaids?

ddint take my voltaren this am- gonna give tummy a resst- which stinks b/c my hands and knees and feet will hurt like ten all day....

feeling kinda bummed- just when i find something that seems to help the pain- its always a stomache problem with me...now what???  could a virus hang on this long???

lori

Poor Lori, I have no idea if Volteran could cause your problems,

but I do know that any drug can react badly in people.

Can you get in touch with your Doc, or someone who could advise you ?
A Virus usually just lasts a couple of days ,especially  if one vomits the offending cause.
Do try to get in touch with someone soon, let us know how you are.
                             hugs Dolly

Autoimmunity

Maybe go off of it for a few days, see if you feel better, then restart it and if you become ill, you will know it was the voltaren  :-\

lori

yeah Auto- thats what im afraid of... but youre right, thats probably the only way to know. ive been mega sick- not just a little off....

one thing a phramacist advised was maybe ttry the voltaren that is NOT exteneded release- he saicd i may tolerate that better - ive been on the XL.

thanks  everyone fro well wishes- its nice to have a soft place to groan and complain aND PEOPLE HERE totally get it. glad i found this site!!!!

Chickpea

Hi Lori

Did you take the Voltaren after eating?  Both the slow release and the ordinary tablets will make your tummy very sore if you take them on an empty stomach.  Your pharmacist is right that you should leave the slow release tablets for now and maybe try again later.

Do you keep a symptom diary?  Lots of us here find them very useful and you can try to make connections between meds, food, even how tired you are.

Maybe you could look up some of the discussions about gastroparesis because your description of your dinner sitting like a weight in your stomach is very familiar.  Sometimes SjS just slows everything down in our digestive system and we have to treat it gently.  This could be the cause of your stomach ache rather than the meds.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

Take care - Chickpea

yes, I have been extremely careful to take the voltaren after a full breakfast. i never ever take a nsaid without food.
