Cymbalta to take or not to take

my GP has suggested that I look at starting Cymbals for the pain I get from Screens...  I am not keen to mess with my brain chemicals though...  any thoughts/experiences??

Well, our chemicals and everything else are already a bit 'messed up'.  At least mine are.

I'm not exactly sure how Cymbalta works, but I do know that many of the SSRIs work in cooperation with your brain to allow the natural chemicals in your brain to spend more time making you feel better.

I looked it up and it's a SNRI, which means it works to keep TWO of your natural chemicals active longer in your brain.

Cymbalta (duloxetine) is usually used as an antidepressant similar to Prozac or Zoloft, though more recently has been expanded for use in treating peripheral neuropathy causing painful feet in diabetics.

It is working VERY WELL for me, I know that!  I cannot take ordinary prescription pain relievers because I'm allergic to all of them.  So Cymbalta is a blessing.

One other point:  We are MADE of chemicals.    Everything is made of chemicals, every food we eat, everything we drink, the air we breathe. 

So fear of chemicals, per se, makes no sense.

Cymbalta doesn't work for everyone, and some people don't tolerate it.  But in my opinion it's worth a try.
