Hello, just wondering if anybody has heard that Lady GAGA(popular singer for those that don't know her) has tested borderline positive for Lupus??? I guess she had an Aunt that died from Lupus. I mention this because I saw it on the news and felt so bad for her having to join our ranks. Just wanted to give a heads up because she may be our go to person to get the word out about autoimmune diseases like Sjogrens since many, many young people LOVE her.......gotta inform the young people of today because they are our future doctors!!!    mary  ;)

It would be nice to have someone out there that can help call attention to people who are suffering.
I refuse to tiptoe quietly through life, only to arrive safely at death's door.

Sjogrens, Hashimotos, CFS.  Also, fast approaching CRS Syndrome ;)

I know the actress Kellie Martin often speaks out for Lupus. Her sister died of it at a very young age.  It's a shame there isn't a well known person who suffers with Sjogren's who can speak up. Not that I'm looking for someone to have this awful illness. I just feel this disease needs MUCH MORE exposure!!  >:(

I keep hoping someone with "MONEY" will donate to Denise Faustman's research.  We need the awareness for people to donate.

Yes, I'm suspecting that she had a blood test that showed high ANAs.  This seems to be the first clue that starts so many of us on the path of looking for a diagnosis.
Some docs seem to dismiss the ANA number, since some people can have them just because of an infection.
Since her aunt definitely had Lupus, and because she is famous, I think that the docs are paying attention to her.
Her interview was great, and she did do a great job of bringing some awareness about Lupus to the public.
I've never heard Lady Gaga's music, and she seems to be quite outrageous, but now I'm saying "You go, girl!"

Wow...I hadnt heard of this until now.

I wouldn't wish any of this stuff on anyone...but I also think the more exposure the better...as the word needs to get out there. People fear what they dont know...so the more we talk about it and the more people learn about it.....the better off we will all be!

(stepping down off of my soapbox now)..... ;)
