I can't sleep tonight . I feel like I either have pneumonia or dry lungs. I have only sneezed though. so I tend to think it's dry lungs. In the past one doctor thought I had pneumonia , but the next doctor said it was dry lungs.

Say a prayer for me. I have to go into work today.

thanks

I made it through the day at work. I thought I was going to have to call in . Yes we have a small humidifier. One in the living room that holds about a gallon of water. I will admit though a day or two we forgot to run it.

I had to keep taking deep breathes until it got better. Maybe it was musculure.

Susan, I know just what you are talking about. It really hurts when the lungs are so dry. I use a facial sauna and that really helps big time. If you shop around you can find them and find one that is cheaper.

Also, since I was very young I have had these issues and my mom bought cheese cloth and cut it in small pieces. I then wet them with water and held the cloth overy my nose and mouth. It is sheer relief to have the moisture enter your lungs. I have used this treatment (along with the humidifiers) for most of my life and it works.

I have learned that it is best to boil up some distilled water and keep it in the refrig for this use This is my way of trying to prevent further lung infections. I don't trust my well water in this day and age. Hope that you can get this under control. The thing is that when our lung tissue gets this dry it is more susceptible to the infections. Hope you get to feeling better. Irish ;D

Glad to hear you managed to get through the day at work, Susanep.

It's hard enough to cope with our med problems at home all day,

but to have to work must make so frustrating
I am now retired, but I remember coming home some days and making a cup of tea, then going straight to bed with exhaustion.

By the way, when my lungs feel tight, I put very hot water in a bowl, then inhale the steam for as long as possible.

I repeat throughout the day and find it really helps with congestion,

Of course, if this is happening too frequently then it's off to the Docs girl.
Hope you have a better day tomorrow,         Dolly

Thanks everyone. irish I had never thought of the facial sauna . I will have to look around. I am going to the doctor today, but even if they xray my lungs, if it's due to dry lungs that are rubbing together I dont know if it will show up. One doctor once said when they get that dry they rub together.

I will also try putting the cloth up over my nose and mouth. Sounds so relieving.
