Half a tree

Persuaded the boys to go into the attic for the decorations, not that I think they will get put up this weekend in spite of pressure from Susie! While I was checking through it, it seems there is  only the bottom half of the tree.

Up they went again to search in all the darkest, furthest corners.  They found the big pram, the leggo and all 5 sets of new baby cards, but no tree top!  So now I have a short fat stump of a tree and nowhere for the angel - who has looked down on us for many Decembers - to sit. I'm trying to remain optimistic in spite of this serious setback... Have a good weekend XX Ailsa

How very odd  ???

I'm sure it's up there, hidden by something else.

Funny, I have some very old christmas lights and I would be very upset if they failed to work, as they have lots of memories and you don't see any like them these days.  Hope it turns up.  xx

I'll keep the fingers crossed that you can find the the top half Alisa!  :D

Oh Ailsa,

I'm trying not to laugh...but this is pretty funny! I DO hope you find the top half of your tree...if not....the bottom half will have to do this year.....your angel can still go on it somehow!  ;)

Ailsa,

That is weird.  Hope you find it.  :)

I had my husband cut the bottom stump of my tree to make it short enough to place on a table, behind my love seat in a corner.

If I could I would sent the end to you, but you need a top , not a bottom.  :)

You could call it your Recession Tree cause everybody is cutting down this year!  :D ;)

Rhonda

It will be a Christmas to remember at your house!

Maybe you could stick a uvc pipe in the hole where the tree top should go and drape ribbons & lights maypole-style to the shape of a tree.   Stick your angel on top.  Pretend it was intentional!  Have a merry Christmas, with or without your tree!

Still chuckling at your comments Pisces!!

Well, we gave in and bought a new tree  - not as nice as our 'memory tree' but we will just have to start making new memories with this one! I'm having to put the decorations up by degrees this year; makes me sad to think back to how I was this time last year, just before I started being unwell.

No doubt the other half of the old tree will turn up next summer. I found the missing lid of a teapot from Japan twenty years after I lost it, in the bottom of a storage box full of clothes. Go figure.

And nothing wrong with new memories.
