Hi Salsen,

Don't you just love buying shoes?  ::)  Yeah, not one of my favorite things to do either.

I've not heard of trying Capsezin, that's a new one on me too.  Hum, maybe a more knowledgeable member will stop by and be able to shed some light on this issue.

I'm glad that you've found New Balance to be a good "fit" for you (sorry, couldn't help it ;)), and that you had a couple of good salesmen to help you on your purchase.  I like Reebok for the same reasons, and their shoes always has a little bit more thickness on the sole; I'm hard on my feet some days, and I need all the help I can get! :D

Take care -

I'm just now starting to have to be choosy about what shoes I can wear for maximum comfort, thanks to Sjogren's.  I like Asics, which aren't cheap but worth it for me.  I also have a couple pairs of Ryka brand that I like.  For myself, I found that New Balance are too heavy but maybe I got the wrong style(s)?  I pretty much live in sneakers and casual shoes since I work for a medical practice and wear scrubs all week.  I had to wear a pair of strappy sandals with heels for my sister's wedding back in May and about died!  LOL

Kathy,

Your shortie boots sound cute.  You have small feet!!  Do your boots have a heel?

<<I might even open a savings account>>     Good for you!!!  ;D

It seems any more that I have adopted the "I don't care" attitude for shopping.  Between all the road construction, traffic and people I'd just rather stay home and out of the stores.  I have been known in years gone by to be gone all day hitting store after store after store looking (not shopping).  Those days are long gone too.

A couple of weeks ago I found a real comfortable pair of shoes.  Leather, rounded toe, slip ons.  No bells or whistles, but they are very comfortable.  Basic Editions from K-Mart.  I'm not a person who has to only buy name brand clothing, food, etc.  My husband used to be an OTR (over the road) truck driver.  He said a lot of things are manufactured by the same company under a different label.  People tend to be hung up on the label they use.   I say, if the shoe fits . . . wear it!!   ;D  ;D  I also know that some times you get what you pay for!!   ::)

Bucky, I've gotten a lot of cute tops from K-Mart's Basic Edition brand over the years for great prices!  Too bad our K-Mart is in the process of closing now.   :-\

Sal,
Be very careful using the Capsezin.  Put it on a very small area and wait about 2 hours and see if you can tolerate it.  I tried using it on my knees and found out real quick that my dry skin blistered.  Also if you use it, don't use your bare hands to apply it.  Use rubber gloves or a small foam paintbrush.  :o

I hope it works for you if you try it, I know the pain you endure with the neuropathy as I do.

Also very, very happy you found a pair of shoes.   ;D

Hugs, Pooh

Glad you found shoes that work for you. I use the Birkenstocks all the time, even their gardening clogs. That is the only shoe I have found that cushions my heel and gives my toes the space they need. There are a number of similar brands with a slightly different fit - can't remember any names - but they tend to be sold at the same stores, so you can try on a variety. None of them are cheap.

Hi Genko

Yes, the boots have a wedge heel of about one inch. The sole is moulded, and they are very good shock absorbers, so really comfy. I'm delighted with them.

I do have fairly small feet, but then I'm just under 5 feet tall, so I suppose, they are in proportion.  I'm another who doesn't go for designer labels, but just fell lucky with these.

See if you can see them on this link

http://www.shoe-shop.com/icat/womens_flyflots_boots?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=fly%20flot%20boot

They are nearly at the bottom of the page and the reference number is CALFLY 1007.

I am just so pleased with them. I have had a long day, travelling to London and back, with more walking than usual, and my feel still feel okay. This feels like a miracle.
