Les, I too thank you for a refresh. It's good to talk about something else besides sickness all the time!

I'm 47, my husband 53 and shoot I have more issues with health than he does. Just to keep making him remember he's got a sweet young thang, on my good days I make sure I'm especially sweet cuz on some of these off days I can kind of, well yall know, Let's just say it ain't always pretty!

You got a man that communicates and ain't dragging his feet when he walks and talks? Girl he's a keeper! At our age those come few and far inbetween!!! ::) ;D ;D

You enjoy your new man, keep your wits about ya and enjoy some more! So that's why Joy is a part of ya name, huh? :)

Thanks for your replies  :) I've been really lucky so far, with symptoms that come and go and just the dryness issues usually.
Fortunately I've had no pain when I rest or am asleep, so alot of it is muscle and joint fatigue. I also have a bit of, shoulder, hip and elbow involvement. There's also fasciculations (muscle twitching) which I get when my muscles are tired plus I'm not sleeping well (what's new). The last flare I had involving muscle/joints was shoulders in 2005 and before that 1995/6...so pretty good really.

Today I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm in a flare. I'm not going to stress about it too much and just take it easy...
I'm am resting, eating and drinking well, reading and watching a bit of TV, then doing a few essentials and resting again. I don't have work till Tuesday so plenty of time to rest over the weekend  :)

I'm really interested in knowing if many people here have begun new relationships in their 40's 50's 60's that have worked out well (or not) and what have been the attitudes of these partners and how have they coped during your flares??

Cheers,
Lesley (New Zealand)

My knees ache quite often, even at night when my legs are at rest.

Good question Les,

I would think dating someone with sjogrens in these age groups would be quite the norm for most people of that age group since most have issues of some kind themelves, especially those that don't have alot of the symtoms. Only I would honestly wonder about those that suffer with the drness of the VAJAYJAY would find it more of a challenge to venture into a new marriage, if you know what I mean? But then again that may not be something that can't be overcomed or accepted by a new partner. Don't know if that's something that should be discussed before marrage or not.

I have lots of knee problems. I am sure a lot of it is a am a hairstylist and stand most of the day. But I know it is more than just that .The pain seems to move around a lot .But it also has its special places it likes. I have had surgery on one knee . It was better for a while then it was worse then ever when it started up again it almost feels like there is a pad in it and it is hard too bend. I had some kind of injections that help cushion the knees or replace the cartilage not sure. It did help quite a bit .First time it lasted about 2 years. This time it has only been about 1 year so far .It helps. It is made from the crowns of roosters but I can't recall the name right now.
primary sjogrens, adderall xr, diclofenac ,vitamin d3, percocet, b12,b6, omega3, ibuprofen, protonix, voltaren gel, lots of sugarless gum and candy.

Dryeye,

Wrinkles in his crank, can you say that? :D

Bernice

Eye,
that's my point oo! You will be hard pressed to find anyone at our age and above that don't have a few issues too, they may be able to hide it a little more, but they got something! I t just puzzles me those that have the nerve to be picky enough to think they deserve a fly girl that will run laps around him. Not to say in ANY way Les. man is like that, but there are so many like that. Look at Donald Trumph for instant, that man know he should  have cut that hair many years ago, he got that flap spread from one side of his head to the other refusing to give it up in an effort to hid fact that that young wife of his is, well maybe he just wants to forget fact he is old, Im sure he loves fact she is young!

Women are a bit more senible when it comes to that, but there are coguars too! That seems to be a poplar thing now a days. I mean not too many of us want to take on an old man that drags his leg and can't keep up. Taking on the job of health aide in our condition ain't something most of us will voluteer for either. Shoot even healthier people will think twice about that! It's someting else if that person has grown on ya after years of love.

Hi Bernice, luckily I don't have dryness problems of the of the VAJAYJAY , which is weird as I believe it goes together with the dry eyes and mouth :-)
I use the Ovestin estrogen vaginal cream which works well for me   ;)

Cheers, Lesley (NZ)

Les,
I really don't have a problem there either, BUT I have noticed a time or two where it was quite, well, wasn't what it should have been. I don't know what that was all about because since I've been O.K. BUT ya know what went through my mind when it happened. >:( >:( ??? ??? ??? ??? ;D ;D

Me? I ain't too worried about it though cause I keep plenty of vaseline at hand, just don't want to have to kill the mood by stopping to smear a glob of it on. ::) >:( ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D
