KRILL OIL VS. FISH OIL

Just recently my doctor instead of prescribing fish oil he gave me MegaRed omega-3 KRILL OIL. He says it is far better.

The bottle says it's 3 times better than fish oil.

Has anyone tried krill oil, if so, what do you think?

I've not taken krill oil before but I read that it lowers CRP more effectively than fish oil.  I'm all for anything that lowers inflammation.  I've been on high dose fish oil for a few years on and off and it's made a difference for me healthwise.

I have read that Krill oil is even better than Fish oil.  I take a high dose of fish oil on my doctor's recommendation.  I'm wondering if anyone knows if Krill oil is hard on your stomach.  Amazingly, I tolerate the fish oil I take very well.   I take Carlson's Fish Oil and it has a lemon flavor.  I do not take capsules but rather the oil.  The capsules upset my stomach.

Ohiolady,

Thus far it does not seem to upset anything, though I do have bad case of heartburn, I'm thinking it's from something else I ate.
I'm taking the gel pills. He has me taking twice the advised dose on bottle, for now.

He says this is what he uses himself/

Hi  :)

Interesting. I don't know which is better, but I do know that taking 3 fish oil capsules per day (as opposed to the one recommended) does seem to have helped my eyes some.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Ohiolady,
I read somewhere that you should freeze the capsules first if they upset your stomach, it's supposed to make them dissolve slower. Have not tried it yet.
