New weird sensation - anyone else?

Ok, am I on my own with this one or has anyone else had it?

At weekend I had the ring and little fingers on each hand go numb and tingly.  No big deal, stuff like that happens to me regularly, as well as odd patches of numbness on my body and regularly in my feet.  It doesn't hurt.

But then today, my left hand started to buzz - as if I was holding a mobile phone that was vibrating!  It was pulsing and buzzing for about 5 minutes - extremely weird.  Just prior to that I had just been sitting at my desk - nothing odd was happening  ???  I noticed that my palm was also oddly mottled at the time of this (a bit like livedo reticularsis that I have permanently on my arms and legs  :().

Anyway, then it stopped LOL!  Anyone else get that?  I get the odd "electric shock" just about anywhere now and then, and again it is a surprise more than pain (my office buddies are used to me now when I go "oooh" for no apparent reason  ::)).

So weird, though.

Oh and another.  Sometimes the knuckles on both hands go absolutely scarlet red (and most of my palms too).  It doesn't itch or burn or tingle - just goes scarlet red.  Weird, eh!    xx

I don't get the buzzing  hands, but the palms of my hands are always lobster red.  especially the fleshy side and fingertips.  Dunno what it's from, a Dr once told me it's bad circulation.

Hi Jaygee,

Count me in as a member of your club!  I have buzzing regularly in both hands and have also experienced sensations of my entire body buzzing.  The hand thing can be brought on or made worse by physical use--holding a hair dryer or gardening tools, for example.  But, it will also come on without any apparent external cause.   I had EMG and nerve conduction studies--EMG was normal and the nerve conduction studies did demonstrate carpal tunnel in one hand, but not both.  I don't know if carpal tunnel can cause your entire hand to buzz??   It certainly doesn't explain the other "normal" hand/arm!! ???  This whole thing is bothersome because at first the sensations in my hands were just tingly and were pretty random and isolated.  Lately, I've developed more prickly pins and needles sensations in hands and feet as well as the vibrating hands.  I wonder if whatever "it" is is progressing.

You mention odd patches of numbness throughout your body--I don't have much numbness, but I regularly have odd patches of tingling all over the place as well.  It drives me absolutely nuts.  Not that it's painful--it's just THERE, and I am tired of not knowing the cause of it.  I had one episode of the redness over the same areas on both hands--looked like a bad sunburn and went away after a couple of hours.  Not sure what that nonsense was, either!  Electric shock, stabbing pains I've experienced, too, but not with great frequency.   Tingling and buzzing are my constants lately.

Anyway, sorry I don't have any answers for you.  I sure wish I did.  But, I can certainly empathize.  Hope your buzzing was an isolated incident and it doesn't decide to make repeat appearances!

Take care,
Shell

So glad it's not just me  ;D

Was the weirdest thing.  Like you, Shell, I'd like to know what it was you know?  Didn't hurt or anything but it's not "normal" xx

Whoo Hoo! Buzzing Club!

I'm on 900mg/day Neurontin... buzzing begone!

Its so funny I thought there was something under the floor or desk causing the vibration.  I had nerve conduction tests and was just told "you have a swollen nerve" - gee thanks.  I went back to my GP and SHE was the one who actually made the prescription, not the Neuro or the Rheumy.

God Bless my GP

Thank you for making me feel heard, you guys!

I am glad it's not just me, but I feel like a real moaner at the moment.  Feel like I have a new "something" every day.

I am seeing the rheumy again on 18 July.  I have written everything down.  I hope he believes me.  xx

Jaygee, I too have weird little things all the time. I've had the numbness in different parts of my body. I've had red and burning hands and feet. I've also had really good days lately- 4 days being relatively pain free- just the fatigue is sticking around. I am beginning to become "paranoid" waiting for these good days to come to an end.

gsmraxe - I am only a patient and don't have the problem of red palms or burning of the hands, but my very best friend asked her doctor about her very red palms and fingers and he said "oh its nothing" and she is now waiting on a liver transplant.  Not trying to scare you, but maybe you better ask another doctor.  I looked up cirrosis and that is one of the signs.

I don't have red burning hands, but I do get a vibrating feeling in my feet and even my leg sometimes.  My hands will get a tingling feeling.  My memory isn't that great, so I can't recall if they have the vibrating feeling or not.
