Thanks everyone for the replies!!  I meant to start a new subject, but added in on to the Swollen thryroid update.  Sorry about that.
I failed to say that he has not started me on any medication.  He said we would treat it systematically.  Is that a normal response?

I know that it really doesn't matter what he says at this point, but I'm still curious.

Thanks again :)

Hi Bobby,

Please remember that I've never been in the medical field, but I find that interesting that he hasn't started you on any meds, but is taking it systematically.  Have you asked him why he doesn't think you need them yet?

Take care -

Hi Patze,

He said when there was a kidney problem, i.e., you are up all night using the bathroom, or a breathing problem,
he didn't see the need to medicate early.  That was a big concern because everything I was reading about osteoarthritis
said the earlier you were on something, you may be able to slow it down.  The Sjorgren symptoms that are popping out
on me  now are a couple of bouts with swollen glands, swollen lymph node in my neck and sinus infection.  Of course the
sore throat and dry eyes.  What is causing me the most problem is the cramping in my legs and toes and the osteoathrits
in my hand.

This week end I started getting like electrical shocks in my left hand.

Oh the joy!!  Anyway, thanks for the reply.  I'm going to call his wonderful office staff(tha is a whole story in it's self!) and get
my records sent to me.  Wish me luck!!!

Hi Bobby,

It's always good to have a copy of your records, just in case.  Have you given any thought to maybe seeking a second opinion with another endo (I'm on my third one so far)?

Here are a couple of websites that you might find interesting...you can also google Mary Shomon, she's written a lot about thyroid issues that has been  extremely helpful to me and some other members here.

I know what you mean about the electrical shocks, whew, they do hurt, don't they?  I know I get them in my feet now a days (used to get them bad in my right leg for a couple of years, and they stopped pretty much after a lot of physical therapy).  And no neuro has figured out what is going on yet, hopefully someone will soon.

I cant's speak of osteoarthritis, but I know several of the members have it, and hopefully one of them will stop by soon to give you some answers.

Hang in there, and take care -

Patze
