Hi friends :) I saw my Rheumy yesterday and he started me on Evoxac. I took it at bedtime as suggested but i was awake most of the night with pain in my bladder ??? Has anyone tried this medication and have you had any problems taking it? I always have to urinate a lot but this made my bladder very painful and sore >:(. He said it will help with the mouth dryness and i guess my eyes too. I also take Placqunil and have since January and it has been helpful with my R.A.
I hope everyone is having a good day and i look forward to your responses ;D

Leisa,

When I was first put on Evoxac, I had such terrible hot flashes and sweats, soaking wet.  I couldn't stand it and called my rheumy.  She suggested I stick with it for two weeks and that it might pass.   That maybe it was just my body going through the adjustment of taking it.  She was right.  (But I still can't take it on an empty stomach, though.)  Anyway, possibly the bladder problem may pass, but I would definitely call your rheumy about it right away.    If you have interstitial cystitis, then Evoxac could be a problem.

I have taken Exoxac for over a year. It does help some, but makes me sweat sometimes.

Yes, I've experienced it as well and I might add pretty severely at first.  Try to stick with it and gvie it some time.  It has been a lifesaver for me.

I have never had a problem with Evoxac and wondered if it was doing anything, well, that was until I didn't have any for 4 days while in the hospital. My nose, mouth, throat and eyes were unbearably dry and could wait for my Evoxac fix :o

Thank you all for your responses and yes i will give it sometime to see if this passes! I have been having uti's lately and maybe it's back again ??? Possibly i do have a problem with my bladder ??? but what else is new >:(. If things progress with this new med then i will give the rheumay a call.
Thank you all for your speedy responses. I appreciate all of you so much! This has been the best support for me. I don't feel so all alone with this terrible disease.

I can't imagine Evoxac causing that reaction, but I guess anything's possible.  It's so hard to know what's SJS, what's the meds, and what's some other illness/issue.

Evoxac sometimes makes me break into a clammy sweat (not always--not sure why some times are different than others).  It definitely helps with saliva production and a little bit with my eyes, though not as much as with my mouth.
