i got all my blood work back from the internest and everything was fine exept my thyroid
he put on synthroid and is sending me to and endocrenologist

the dryness started to improve then allergies started so i had to take antihistimine so started to dry out

i am still on ativan and pristiq for anxiety

the internist did not think that i have sjs

is there anyway that having hashimotos/hypo  and anxiety can cause dryness of mouth and eyes
i have no other symptoms

confused more than ever?

Oh, yes, Hashimoto's can certainly cause SJS like symptoms. 

I ended up having SJS afterall, but when I was first diagnosed w/ Hashi's, I had some of the symptoms, especially red, dry eyes and terrible allergies (never had them before my autoimmune conditions--turns out they are an immune system problem, too).  Before I developed SJS, I could tell that my thyroid meds needed to be increased whenever my eyes got ridiculously red.  I was only diagnosed w/ SJS when the day finally came that changing my thyroid meds didn't help; it always had before.

Best wishes with the Hashi's.  It's a doozy, but it's manageable (not as much as they act like it is at the doctor's, but it isn't a total disaster).  It may take you a while to find the right dose of meds, though, so be prepared for that.  You'll go on a low dose, wait six weeks, get a blood test, and go from there (it took me three rounds to get the right dose and then it changed every six months or so for a year or two; I've been steady for the past year and a half now, I think).

Remember Jas that about 40 percent of the people with Sjogrens test sero-negative on blood work.   If your internist is only going by the blood work results then you need to find a doctor that understands this very complicated disease.

But that's the problem .. finding a dr that does really know about this disease. I must be doing something wrong. How do you go about that? Are specialists only at major city hospitals?

Barc,   You could ask for recommendations here on this site.   There sure must be someone from your area that visits this site that has a good rhumy.

Thanks Steve. I've posted a couple of inquiries but everything so far is out of state. No wonder it takes so
long to dx... doctors can't be found.  I'll keep trying though, I have to.
