The Oestrogen cream is on prescription in the UK. The E45 cream can be bought over the counter. It is mainly used as a moisturiser, commonly by people with excema. However, my GP prescribed it  for me and suggested I use it with water as a wash, and it is helpful, and non-greasy. I've also used aqueous cream, which is only about ?1.50 from shops like Bodycare and some of the supermarkets.
