Chron,s Disease

I do have Sjogrens,,and I,m wondering if I might have Chron,s disease.Is,nt Chron,s a autoimmune?
I have some symptoms,,not all of them but some.Does anyone on this board have it,and if you do could you tell me about your symptoms. I REALLY hate to bring this up to my Dr.I hate test. Thanks alot you guys,you are always helpful.

I don't have Crohn's but I do have friends who have it. The link below is quite good and easy to read. I know my friends suffered a lot of pain, bleeding, loose stools and weight loss. Once dxd they gotr stabilised but one had to be on a totally liquid diet for the best part of a year.

I believe it is an autoimmune disease.

I have SJS and Crohn's.  I was diagnosed with Crohn's in 2007.  I will tell you that my symptoms are on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to this disease.  My worse symptom is constipation, but have occasional pain in my stomach, not so much the LRQ, but middle upper stomach area.  I don't and have never had diarrhea, blood in my stool.  My crohn's is in my terminal ileum with a stricture, which my GI thinks is the cause of my constipation.

What kind of symptoms are you having?  Just remember that like SJS, Crohn's is a very individual disease, to an extent.  If you are concerned with some problems you are having, then no matter what I or anyone else tells you, you should talk to your doctor about it.  Your doctor is really the only one that can diagnose crohn's.  It can be difficult to diagnose sometimes.

Hi SB!

I know you don't want to, but I think the best thing to do is to see a good gastro. This is the doc that can help diagnose and treat you.

I wish you good luck in getting your symptoms under control...having GI problems are not fun! I have GERD and IBS and have suffered greatly from these two issues, but with medication and a doctor who will listen....I have had many more good days that I had in the past. I can't ask for more than that!

And btw.....my previous gastros who worked together are fired...they did not want to listen and blamed everything on my weight and drinking pop....now I know both were issues, but it was not the total reason for my pain and they offered no other meds or treatment so I suffered for years until I found my new great gastro doc! They are out there....I hope you find a good one too!

Chrons is an auto immune disease , it can strike anywhere in the digestive tracts, my friend was DX after vomiting after every meal, yet she had never had the constantly passing bloody stools .

  In saying that IBS and gerd as lynne marie said can be pretty horrible, and could just be that.
  My friend with chrons swears by digestive enzymes she buys from health food store, and cutting out food that offend her, like mustard and gluten , she is stable enough now.
