Today being Friday, March 13th - some people worry about it being superstitious.  Not me . . I'm thanking my lucky stars . . not once, but three times today.

When I got up this morning I decided today was the day to take all the rest of the Christmas decorations down to the basement and bring up the "spring" flowers, etc.

I'm not fond of making numerous trips up and down the basement stairs (stairs hurt my knees) so I try and consolidate my trips to the fewest possible.  I have been known to carry too many things at one time in the effort to save trips.  Today was no different.  I had an armload of glass ornaments.  Made it down the stairs alright - set them down on something and turned around . . . crash to the ground the boxes go.  Oh noooooooo.  Much to my surprise, they didn't brake!!   ;D

After safely getting the ornaments to their "spot" until next Christmas I start gathering things to bring back upstairs.  Set a heavy glass vase on the floor for a return trip.  Took a load upstairs.  Came back downstairs with another armload of Christmas items.  Forgot the vase was sitting on the floor and knocked it over (of course, I couldn't see my feet, so did not see vase).  Oh nooooooo.  This is my favorite vase.  Not only is it a collectors item (green, Blenko Handcraft) - it belonged to my late mother.  Hallelujah, it didn't break!! (the floor in the basement is concrete).  I would have been heartbroken if it had broke.  I would have no one to blame but myself.

I had taken the wreath off the wall in the laundry room to replace with a hanging picture.  The picture was leaning against a bench in the laundry room.  The phone rings.  I go to answer the phone, knocking over the picture - it falls on the front side of the picture.  Oh noooooooooo.  Once again, the luck of 13 was with me and the glass didn't break.  WOOHOO

Whew . . . what a day.  But . . it's been a good day.  My three little mishaps all had happy endings.  ;D My Christmas decorations are packed away for a while and all the daffodils, forsythia, tulips,  rabbits and  plastic eggs are set out.  It's beginning to look like Spring around here.   ;D  Yay!  The birds are singing, the sun is shining.  Friday the 13th isn't so bad after all.   :D

So, Friday the 13 is your special day! It sounds to have been very productive. I bet you're feeling really pleased with yourself, as well you might be. It gives you a real buzz to finish a task that has been on hold for a while, doesn't it?

Enjoy the rest of your day.

Woweee Bucky, what a day you have had. I seem to be okay on Friday the thirteenth but Saturday the fourteenth is usually not good for me. Oh well, we both know that I am different, lol.

I think it's a wonderful thing that none of your precious things were broken. Those things can mean so much to us when they have such special sentimental value. They just can't be replaced. Besides all that, you accomplished alot today. Good for you. I know the look of spring can do so much for our spirits. It's spring break time down here and it's uplifting to see all the young people having so much fun. The traffic is awful though so we usually stay close to home till it's over.

I hope you have rested up from your busy day. Lady Luck was surely shining on you today.  ;D

Hugs,

Bucky, what a wonderful story!  Although I can't come up with any special stories from today (actually forgot it was Fri. the 13th), thirteen is my lucky number.  We got married on a Friday the 13th.  We get many jokes about that, but it's lasted 40+ years so it was a good pick.

I hope you have more good stories to relate next month on the 13th.  Lucy

Hi Bucky!

I was wondering if I was one of the few that actually likes Friday the 13th's!  ;)

I'm glad that your breakables are safe and sound for you!  That is good news!
