Anybody have an issue with lymph system? I have been having a real go with pain and burning on my left side for a month or so. Originally when i was checked out the dr thought it was pulled chest muscles from a cough i had, but that kind of went away. But this past week it's back, holly smoke it hurts. this time under my arm and across my chest at the top part of my breast. So bad i can't hardly move my arm and now it's starting to hurt my back too, that might be from favoring the chest arm shoulder area though. I don't know if sjs can do anything to the lymph system or even if that's what this is, anybody deal/delt with anything similar? Thanks Sandra

Usually lymph system problems take the form of swellings, in predictable places like neck, under the jaw, underarms and groin (you can Google lymph system to find a diagram of the position of lymph nodes).

Pain such as you describe sounds more like inflammation, and the area you pinpoint sounds like intracostal chondritis. The burning isn't usually part of ICC (Tietze syndrome), and actually sounds more like neuropathy, so there may be a couple of things going on. As much as I realize you don't want to hear it, it may be time for another doctor's visit. If you can take NSAIDS, and have some, it may be worth while to see if they relieve it in any way.

When that happens to me I massage down the ribs to get the lymph to move. I also use Reiki to help with the pain.

I just have to add a bit about the lymph nodes in relation to the breast. I have had sore underarm tissue and breast tissue for years. I always thought it was related to my hormones. However, I recently had a lymph node that showed up on a mammogram and I had to have an ultrasound. I will swell in the tissues under my arms and if I palpate deeper into the underarm it is really sore.

So, yes, a person can have some sort of involvement in the lymph nodes in the breast. Strange situation though. Irish ;D

sorry to hear your in such pain :(

I d get back to docs and get this sorted out, they cant just leave you in that pain saying pulled muscles, docs seem to like belittling pain :(

I get parotid tenderness alot of days , jaw and neck nodes flare most days now , yup under my arm is tender and at my shoulders, groin nodes are painful at times, why they thought i had endometriosis, groin pain and pain during intercourse, turned out to be extreme dryness and node pain.

so yup many of us get node swellings or tenderness , many dont.

irish thnakyou for that info ! i have pain in breasts at times, tenderness at any time of the month, before periods tenderness is marked, was told it was hormonal but ive had it since i was 25 , sometimes a deep itch , but one day i might feel a lump next day its gone a different part feel tender, now reading youir post i see it may not be as hormone linked as i thouught thankyou for the info
