Hi
Has anyone experience of Laser eye or mouth treatments.
I can only find one mention of this in a reply to whitening strips and would be interested to get more feedback.
My dry eyes and mouth are still at an intermitent stage and this makes me think that I might be able to consider laser treatments. Now if they would just invent a laser diet.

Hi Heather 

My understanding is that having SjS is a contra indication to having any laser eye treatment - but I may have the wrong end of the stick here. I've never heard of laser mouth treatment.

Hello Heather,

Yes laser treatment for the eyes is contraindicated for Sjogren's patients.
I wanted to get my eyes done, but the risk of an infection due to too little moisture is too big.
I tried several clinics, they all said the same.

So now I savour my goggles!

Yep laser eye treatment not recommended for anyone with dry eye - now laser mouth treatment, do you mean teeth whitening?

There was an earlier post that talked about this and how bad it is to have it done.   I had radialcarotomy done years ago before laser surgery but luckily dry eyes is not my biggest problem and this was years ago.   Of course I'm back to glasses again.

Heather, you want to PM eyeamdry about the laser surgery she had.  I don't think you want to chance it, but I'm sure you will hear ideas from both sides on this subject.

Thanks for the replies.
I was pretty sure the answer would be no no no! But I live in hope.
Yes I did mean laser teeth whitening. I would like to have the whole lot out and replaced by the false ones that are held in with titanium screws, but my dentist says that is using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, I think he should try living with the painful little nuts then he would change his mind.

Hi Heather

I had my teeth whitened a couple of years ago but not by laser, my dentist didn't recommend it as it can cause hypersensitivity aftewards and as my teeth can be a bit sensitive to begin with he did it by making plastic trays for over my teeth which I would fill with a bleach paste and sleep in.  This worked really well and even though it did cause more sensitivity I had more control over it as I could stagger the treatments.  Perhaps that is worth a thought instead.
