Hvae any of you had a negative SSA when it was positive before?  The nurse told me it was because I was not having a flare. Any ideas?

Hi Jazzcat-
Yes, many of us have a negative SSA when it was positive before because we are receiving treatment and this brings bloodwork into the normal range.  (This may not be true in ALL CASES, or for everybody, but it's the case with me.)

My rheum says it's like being "in remission."  Also....it might be because "you're not having a flare?  It's a good thing.

Hi there, Linda would know more about the mechanics of this than me, but I know it can happen especially if you've been on plaquinel for a time. I'm sure it can happen spontaniously as well.

Take care, Lesley (NZ)

Jazz,

So here's the question,

"Do you feel better than you used to?"

Scottietottie

Hi Jazz  :)

My bloodwork was never positive for Sjogren's but was positive for lupus. Since taking Plaquenil my bloodwork is now pretty well normal apart from slightly elevated liver function readings and thyroid antibodies.

The doc says 'keep taking the Plaq' - the bloodwork is proof that it's working.

Take care - Scottie  :)

Yes I am feeling slightly better. My eyes still hurt but my muscles are not as bad as they have been. I tried going back to work but only lasted one day. I feel bad because I am having a hard time accepting that I am sick. argh..

JannaLee

Me too.  I keep thinking this is all a big mistake.
