Just a note to see how the weather is around the country. It has heated up in MInnesota and was pretty miserable today. I would not be surprised if the smoke or haze from the wild fires is also making it feel so darned warm.

WE have not had much breeze where I live the past few days. This is really unusual as it is pretty windy much of the time in this area. WE have days any time of the year where it is windy enough that the residents of this senior living don't dare do a daily walk as the wind could blow a person over or cause respiratory issues. WE live about a block from the lake so that probably increases our windy weather.

I am driving down home to spend the next 4 days with my kids and grandkids that their cabin. I am inclined to believe that is will be a hot trip even with air conditioning and that it will be slightly miserable at the lake also. The young folks won't mind though as they water ski a lot and then they come in from the lake starving. Take care and have a great weekend. meirish

Hi  :)

The UK is having the hottest June since records began. Not as hot as you get it over there but looking forward to it being cooler. Not many places here have AC. I don't. Sleeping in heat is not good!

Take care - Scottie  :)

You are right Scottie, sleeping in heat isn't good. My 2 sons have a cabin they built on rented land and they have air conditioning. It is really a must as the cabin sits right up against a hill on the back. There is not much breeze at all much of the time. Had fun at the lake even though it was so hot.

I plan to go again this SAT thru Monday or so. I am still able to drive so want to go at least these 2 times.  Told my kids I might not be able to come next year cause at my age never know. When I get in the car and turn the radio on and drive I feel 10 years younger. But when I get home after all the activity I feel 10 years older. Old age...it is what it is.

Everybody have a great, safe summer. meirish

twiggy

It's been way too hot here in California. Temps continue to reach past 100 F with no relief in sight.
We have fans running in every room. Our AC is set at 81 F, and it still comes on frequently.

Did I mention that it's way too hot?  :P

twiggy, I imagine your AC does run when it is set at 81 degrees. I called my granddaughter who lives in southern CA west of La a few hours. It was 110 that day and still hot out there. We have had some hotter weather here in area north and west of Minneapolis. However, this morning it was chilly out. I think it was down in the lower 60's and the wind has been blowing the past couple of days. I would imagine we will be having some hot weather again. We really need it as the nights have been cooler than normal for July.

Minnesota is usually very hot in the summer. We have the hot days and quite often the hot nights with dew points that can be 70 to 80....miserable to sleep if one doesn't have the AC. However, we are in corn and soybean country here and need to heat day and night to grow those crops. WE are also dry. WE have had drouth here and in spite of snow this winter and some spring rains we are still in drouth. It is normal to have this crazy weather.

There was a summer back in 1860, I believe that there was no summer and no crops either plus cloudy and cold. Wouldn't be surprised if that happens again. The weather can do anything mother nature wants it to but sometimes this cool weather is brought on by volcano ashes.. I am wondering if the Canadian fires are also adding to this weather. We are in a smoke a (pollution) alert almost every day lately. Can't smell the smoke much of the time but there is usually a haze in the air. Stay cool and I am so glad you had all that moisture last winter as it must be of some help to have the runoff from the mountains. Take care. meirish

Hi  :)

I don't envy you the heat. It's cooled right down here - only about 60F. back to cardigans! we are north of the jet stream. Europe is burning up though.

Take care - Scottie  :)
