I haven't posted for a while. I am from the U.K. and was diagnosed with Sjogren's about 15 years ago because my RF was 500. I didn't have many symptoms at that time but was recovering from Ca breast and treatment seemed to be giving me aches and pains. I had all the blood results for Sjogren's.
I ended up taking Plaquenil and Mycophenolate .
These had to stop about 3years ago when I got Ca breast again...other side and had Chemo. Afterwards
I took Plaquenil again but not Myco. Now I haven't been able to return to Myco because of Covid.
By this time my Rheumatologist decided I might have CTD !
Problem now is my left leg is very painful (especially knee) I have had a MRI recently for something else ...they said my knee was ok.
Could Sjogren's be causing this ?
Apologies for the long ramble but would be grateful for any help.

Lots of issues to contend with in this question. First off, you are on the Plaguenil which would help arthritis like aching and pain, etc. It may be that this is something not related to the Sjogrens. Have you had scans of your knee? Sometimes we can have other issues with knees that can be related to old injuries and just kick in for no reason at all. Sometimes the weather will kick up old injuries also.

I would guess that you will need testing off and on to see if you do have Connective Tissue Disease. Sometimes this can be hard to figure out. The basic thing is Sjogrens is a connective tissue disease and over the years it could just increase in symptoms. Sometimes it is best to wait and see if a symptom increases, decreases or just plain disappears. We all assume that every ache and pain we get is from Sjogrens so avoiding a new med, etc. for awhile can sometimes be worth it til we are more sure of the situation. Good luck. meirish
