I scanned thiese articles quickly but I don't think I saw anything about the fact that oxytocin is the body chemical that causes the breast to be able to breast feed. This oxytocin causes the let down of the milk in the breasts enabling one to nurse their baby.

I hope they can get rid of that effect or we will have people pain free with woman needing to nurse a baby. ::) Irish

Hi Irish, from what I read the let down of milk is only caused if the oxytocin rush is in a nursing mother.

Right, but I took a drug years ago that had a oxytocin effect in non nursing mothers and I had to quit the med because I was having the let down cramping and pain but no milk,...Doc couldn't believe it cause it was such a rare condition. In other words there are other meds out there that cause an oxytocin effect with out the milk and it is miserable. I can't think of the name of the med right now. Irish

There is a nasal spray version that is said to cross the blood-brain barrier.
Is that the form you took it in Irish?

no, I took a medication and don't remember the name as it was so long ago. The doctor just chuckled and said that was a new side effect that he hadn't heard of. Anything is possible with any med but I would not worry about it. Irish

;D That's funny to think of what could happen. Well, I guess not really, but I still giggled.
Who knows anymore what these ole bodies are going to do. I just pray one day we all get put back together again the way we were meant to be.
