Thought I'd share the news above.  As many of you know, JAK1/3 inhibitors are also being concurrently trialed for a Sjogrens indication based on pre-clinical studies.

For what it's worth, I took Tofacitinib (a JAK1/3 inhibitor) for several months under a sero-negative RA diagnosis... didn't realize how much it helped me (with dryness at that) until I stopped. 

Anywho... more good news... maybe more folks can try this on, or off label relatively soon.

How about side effects? The profile from Tofacitinib isn't so benign...

Me personally, no side effects with Tofacitinib while on it. 

Filgotinib has trended to a more favorable safety profile in its RA trials than current JAK inhibitors... hence the excitement around the phase 3 top line results.  Apparently it more selectively inhibits the JAK1 pathway...

It would be great if they got more meds approved for Sjogrens. I don't think they do enough clinical trials for us because it is not as common as the other AI diseases. It seems like the biologics have helped a lot of people with AI disease too.

I moved and had to get a new rheumy. He seemed pretty good and was thinking down the road. He said it was actually a good thing that I had RA on my medical record b/c it might qualify me for better drugs if and when I needed them.

It's an interesting class of drugs and I believe one has been approved for RA. I wonder what criteria one will have to fit to get this drug when and if it is approved? I am seronegative but had a positive lip biopsy.
