On my latest visit to my opthomologist, he told me one of my (lower) punctal plugs had slipped down too far and should be removed.  He was unable to remove it and sent me to a specialist who was also unable to remove it.  Now I am scheduled for surgery to cut open my bottom lid to remove the plug and which will require stitches.  I am very nervous about this procedure.

Has anyone else had this done?  Did it affect your eye dryness?  We?re you able to have another plug put in later?
