Is it interstitial cystitis?

I first noticed this when I'd eaten chocolate or drunk some coffee - a pain and bloated feeling around the lower stomach/bladder area, usually lasting half an hour to an hour.   Quite unpleasant and making me want to sit still for a while.   I guessed maybe it was interstitial cystitis but it is not accompanied by any feeling of urgency or any urinary problems.   It sometimes happens now for no apparent reason, when I haven't been eating or drinking.
Dry eyes (MGD), nose, mouth, occasional labyrinthitis,  dry skin , mouth ulcers, constant but fluctuating fatigue, IBS.  Blood tests and Schirmers negative,no Sjogrens dx yet.   Omega 3 algal oil, multivitamins, Evolve eye drops, Xailin eye ointment,  moisturiser (Instituto Espanol 10% urea).

Doesn't sound like it to me. Beware the coffee if you are having this reaction to it.

Dear araminta, I suggest that perhaps you just watch and wait.   Keep a diary, daily of your various sensations.

Certainly both chocolate and coffee are stimulants, but now you have the sensations even when you are not eating or drinking.

For what it is worth, you might as well go a day or two without coffee or Chocolate (I KNOW, that is insane), and see what happens.

In the meantime, if more symptoms develop, even without the coffee and chocolate, you may want to see your gyn, primary care or other medical professional.

This is true even if you didn't make it a whole day without coffee and chocolate.

I think I might be able to do one substance, maybe for part of a day, but no way, giving up both at once.

Thank you for your replies.   I actually gave up coffee three months ago, and hardly ever eat chocolate now, because of these symptoms.   So I'm not sure what's causing them now.   Yes I'll just hang on and see how things go, maybe see a doctor if they continue.
